Allen J. Stevens was a Veteran of the Mexican Border campaign in 1916 and served in France with Company 'G' 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, participating in the Champage-Marne, Aisne-Marne and Oise-Aisne engagements. In 1920 following WWI, he was commissioned second lieutenant, Cavalry, 104th Cavalry Regiment and served from 1920 to 1941 as troop commander, squadron commander and as executive officer, 104th Cavalry Regiment.
